Great. Worked perfectly. Wanted to impress a lady and needed a cab and bam it was there in ten minutes great job
Bypasses waiting on the phone big time - used it on 4 occasions the cab showed up each single time and I didnt have to wait on the phone line during peak times - every Calgarian knows that pain. The gps system shows you where the cab is relative your location and it gives you your cabbies Id. Tweak the interface a bit and It will be an awesome app.
All of the negative reviews must have been written before some kind of fix, because Ive used it with no problems 4 or 5 times now. Usually the driver will call even to clarify where you are. You dont need to know where you are to order a cab though as the app uses GPS and comes up with the address. Ive used it at 3 PM and 3 AM, worked always. Great app.
Cold Saturday night in downtown Calgary, used the Checker app and our taxi was there in less than 10 min! We were very pleased :)
Change the age you have to be to download this app no 4 year old should have this app!! Maybe change it to 16-18??
Love this app, and 80% of the time it works out great, but I wish it would first dispatch taxis that are closest to your pick up location and give them first pick to respond to pickup requests. Often, on a slow day, taxi drivers from half way across town will accept your request first even though 15 other cabs were closer to your location. Thus making for a long wait time.
Some bad moments
The app tells me a cab is a minute away so I book it. Then it books a cab across the city 21 minutes away. The driver has to call me to get the address that I put in the app to begin with. Terrible service.
If there is no clear guarantee that bookings will actually go through the system or result in the delivery of a cab, why was this application even made? So we can make a booking and hope for a cab? Might as well call and not risk it, which is disappointing because this seemed like a great idea until I was accosted with pop ups telling me that I basically downloaded it for nothing.
With sketchy checker cab drivers - booking cabs and having them show up, find out where youre going, and literally drive off on you. The app then wont rebook you. It gets confused.
The best part about this app is that because of GPS when a cab finally gets assigned to you, 45 minutes late, you can see that the driver never left the coffee house before marking you as a no show. Thats good to know.
When you have one thing to do (deliver a cab on time) and you fail miserably, you alienate customers from your service, not just your app usage. Useless app
Terrible. Had a future booking for Dec 5, booked 4 hours early. Said the cab was 300m away, then said that I was not there? Apps and cab companies like this promote drunk driving. They want us to plan ahead. We tried, and they left us hanging.
